A non-punitive sanctuary built on trust and connection

Action-based healing through OT and life skills on our ranch

A 90-day bridge to ensure a stable transition back home

Finding out your daughter is struggling with drinking is a heavy burden for any parent. You might feel like you’ve lost connection, and you may worry about her safety.

Our program provides specialized teen alcohol treatment for girls 13–17, offering a space where they can hit pause and begin to heal. We focus on helping young women in the Dallas area reclaim their self-worth and build a healthier future.

Why Dallas families search for teen alcohol treatment

Dallas families may reach out when home life becomes a cycle of secrecy and crisis:

  • Skipped classes, a drop in grades, or school refusal
  • Frequent arguments
  • Signs of anxiety or depression
  • Using alcohol or other substances to cope
  • Risky behaviors or self-harm

If outpatient therapy has stalled, you need more than supervision. We move past the surface behaviors of alcohol use to treat the complex trauma and emotional pain driving them. Our goal is to replace your daughter’s fear with a convicted belief that she is enough.

Who is the teen alcohol treatment program for?

Our program is for girls 13–17 who are using alcohol as a tool to cope with anxiety, depression, or trauma.

Within the first 48 hours, every girl receives a full psychiatric evaluation and medical screening to ensure she is a fit for our community. We look for girls who are ready to trade survival mode for a path toward lasting identity and confidence.

Do you believe your daughter or a young woman in your life could benefit from the guidance provided by Roots Renewal Ranch? Help her get the help she needs today.

What makes our program different from others?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, please know that you haven’t failed. Traditional teen alcohol treatment programs can feel cold or punitive, which can be scary for a teen who is already hurting.

At Roots, we offer a bio-psycho-social-spiritual reset that you won’t find in institutional settings.

What our support looks like day to day

At Roots, chaos is replaced by a calm, predictable rhythm built on the science-backed Healthy Mind Platter.

A typical day includes the Morning Huddle, focused Roots Reads time, and hands-on animal time with our animals, including Alfredo the donkey.

This structure helps calm the nervous system and teaches girls how to find joy and “sober fun” without needing a substance to numb their feelings.

Therapy and skill-building

Healing at the ranch goes beyond “talking in a chair.” We combine deep clinical work with real-world practice.

  • Nature-based healing: We use our 40-acre ranch for equine therapy, archery, and gardening to help her discover “sober fun” and build genuine self-worth.
  • Treating root causes: Our bio-psycho-social-spiritual model treats the complex trauma and emotional pain driving her behavior.
  • Advanced tools: We use ART and EMDR to help girls process difficult memories quickly and effectively.
  • The OT bridge: Through occupational therapy, your daughter practices skills like managing social stress and setting boundaries in real-time.
  • Intentional growth: Girls move through 8 clinical focus weeks, tackling themes like shame resilience, grief, and relational health.

Medical and psychiatric support

Safety is our top priority. We provide the medical peace of mind that families expect from a premier clinical facility.

  • Daily oversight: We have nurses on-site daily and 24/7 trauma-trained staff.
  • Physician care: In addition to the initial psych evaluation, girls have weekly visits with our doctor.
  • Whole-body health: We perform lab work to check for vitamin or hormone imbalances, ensuring her body is as supported as her mind.

Family involvement for Dallas parents

You are the “secret sauce” to your daughter’s long-term success. We partner with you to heal the entire family.

  • Family therapy: Weekly sessions to rebuild trust through honest, guided communication.
  • Family Intensive Weekends: Join us at the ranch for immersive training, workshops, and shared experiences.
  • The Family Trail Guide: Keep updated on your daughter’s progress and learn valuable tools through 24/7 access to our private app and digital library.
  • Parent-to-parent support: Gain calm clarity through our community of parents who understand what you’re going through.
  • A shared family language: Develop a common way of speaking and setting boundaries, ensuring continued peace at home in Dallas.

School support

We ensure your daughter doesn’t fall behind while she’s healing.

  • Daily school time: Girls spend about 2.5 hours a day in our on-site classroom.
  • Teacher support: Guidance in completing assignments and preparing for her return to her home school.
  • Academic coordination: Our team coordinates with her home school or the Texas Virtual School Network to manage her credits.

What happens after treatment?

To prevent a transition gap after your daughter leaves the ranch, we provide a 90-day aftercare bridge. This gives her a soft landing back in Dallas.

  • Real-world practice: Her occupational therapy at the ranch gives her the “muscle memory” needed to handle daily triggers.
  • A personalized roadmap: We create a specific reintegration plan to reduce stress during the transition back to home and school.
  • The sisterhood connection: She’ll stay connected to her ranch sisters and mentors through weekly alumni peer groups and our private mobile app.
  • Continued family support: We provide ongoing parent coaching to help you maintain the boundaries and shared language you’ve learned.

Frequently asked questions

While the exact length of stay is tailored to each girl’s clinical needs, the program is built around an intentional 8-week clinical curriculum. This timeline allows girls to move through specific focus weeks, such as shame and vulnerability and relational health, to ensure they are treating the root cause of the substance use rather than the symptoms.

Yes, Roots Renewal Ranch works with many major insurance providers as an out-of-network provider. Our admissions team provides a complimentary verification of benefits to help you understand your coverage. We also partner with a third-party financing company to offer pay later options for costs not covered by insurance.

Roots may be the right choice if your daughter’s outpatient care has stalled, she is using alcohol to cope, your home is in crisis, and/or your daughter’s safety is a concern due to her risky choices or behaviors. If you feel more like a policeman than a parent and need a professional team to help restore your family bonds, contact us today to speak to our admissions specialists.

It is most effective to frame the transition as a “clinical reset” rather than a punishment. You can tell her that she is going to a 40-acre ranch where she will be treated with respect in a non-punitive environment. Emphasize that she will live in a modern home, eat chef-prepared meals, and spend time outdoors with animals. The goal is to help her move from survival mode to a place where she feels worthy and enough.

Yes! Connection is vital. Beyond phone calls and therapy, our Family Intensive Weekends are designed for you to be on-site, working alongside your daughter to rebuild trust.

Yes, but visitation is structured to support the therapeutic process. Our program emphasizes that the family is the “secret sauce” to success. In addition to weekly family therapy, parents and guardians are invited to the ranch for Family Intensive Weekends. These on-site events are a core part of the program, allowing families to practice new communication skills in person.

To help calm the nervous system and allow for deep clinical work, the ranch is a technology-reset environment. Residents do not keep personal cell phones or laptops. However, the ranch provides the necessary technology for supervised schoolwork and scheduled family communication. You can stay updated on your daughter’s daily life and progress through the private Family Trail Guide app.
