Family focus with parent coaching and ranch weekends

A 60–90 day roadmap with clear clinical milestones

A clinical sanctuary that treats the root of her pain

Discovering that your daughter is turning to alcohol to cope with her pain is devastating for any Houston family. You may feel like the girl you knew is slipping away.

Roots provides specialized teen alcohol rehab for girls 13–17. It’s a peaceful, ranch setting where they can hit the reset button. We focus on helping young women from the Houston area move past their struggles to build a life grounded in the belief that they are enough.

Signs it is time to seek teen alcohol rehab

For some Houston families, home life has become a cycle of secrecy and conflict. They may see

  • School struggles
  • Damaged relationships
  • Signs of anxiety or depression
  • Self-harming
  • A noticeable drop in self-esteem

When your daughter turns to alcohol, she isn’t being “bad”—she is trying to survive emotional pain.

We move past the surface behaviors to treat the complex trauma driving them. At Roots, we replace your daughter’s exhausting crisis mode with a convicted belief that she is worthy and enough.

Why our nurturing environment leads to better outcomes

Our teen alcohol rehab program is built on lived experience with addiction and trauma, which allows us to lead with empathy instead of judgment.

We believe that lasting change comes from healing the whole child rather than focusing on behaviors.

Located in Argyle, Texas, our ranch is a safe, nurturing place that feels like a community rather than a clinical facility. We help girls uncover the root causes of their struggles.

Building healthy routines for lasting change

Many girls turn to alcohol when their lives feel chaotic or overwhelming. At the ranch, we replace crisis mode with a calm, predictable rhythm. Our daily structure is built on the Healthy Mind Platter, a science-based approach that balances seven types of daily activity to help the brain heal.

  • Morning Huddles: Starting the day with connection and a clear plan.
  • Sober fun: Rediscovering joy through archery, hiking, and animal time with Alfredo the donkey.
  • Community dining: Eating chef-prepared meals together with staff and ranch sisters to build a sense of belonging.

How we help girls process their experiences

We don’t just manage behaviors. We treat the complex trauma that often drives alcohol use. Our clinical team uses a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model to help your daughter understand why she is hurting so she can stop numbing the pain.

  • 8 clinical focus weeks: Targeted topics like shame and vulnerability and maladaptive behaviors.
  • Advanced modalities: We use ART (accelerated resolution therapy) and EMDR to help girls process difficult memories quickly and effectively.
  • The OT bridge: Through occupational therapy, girls turn their therapeutic “aha” moments into real-world habits like emotional regulation and social confidence.

Nursing and psychiatric care

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-level medical oversight to ensure your daughter’s body is as healthy as her mind.

  • Constant care: We have nurses on-site daily and staff trained in trauma-informed care.
  • Psychiatric support: Every girl receives a psychiatric evaluation within 48 hours and weekly doctor visits.
  • Holistic health: We use lab work and medication support to help her reach long-term independence.

Partnering with Houston parents through the recovery process

You are the “secret sauce” to your daughter’s success. We don’t just treat her; we support you. While she is at the ranch, you’ll participate in weekly family therapy and have access to our Family Trail Guide app.

Our Family Intensive Weekends and one-on-one parent coaching provide the hands-on training you need to stop being a policeman and start being a connected parent again. We also provide support for siblings.

Academic and learning support

Healing doesn’t mean falling behind in school. We prioritize a balanced schedule that keeps your daughter’s future on track while she focuses on her recovery.

  • Class time: Girls spend approximately 2.5 hours a day in our on-site classroom, guided by our academic team.
  • Stay connected: We use your daughter’s home school platform or the Texas Virtual School Network to ensure she earns the credits she needs.
  • Weekly updates: We provide regular progress reports to parents and schools so there are no surprises when she returns home.

Preparing for success after teen alcohol rehab

The 90 days after treatment are the most critical for lasting sobriety. We don’t just discharge your daughter; we provide a 90-day aftercare bridge to ensure she has a soft landing back in Houston.

  • Reintegration plan: A step-by-step roadmap for her return to school, social circles, and family life.
  • Weekly alumni groups: Continued peer support through weekly meetings and our private community app.
  • Family system support: Ongoing coaching for parents to help maintain the boundaries and shared language learned during Family Intensive Weekends.

Frequently asked questions

It is a structured live-in program that provides 24/7 support, therapy, and medical oversight. While we use recovery-oriented support like Smart Recovery and AA, we are a licensed residential treatment center focused on a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model. We offer a humane, grounded environment where girls live in a comfortable, modern home, not a hospital.

We plan for discharge starting on Day 1, planning a 90-day aftercare bridge to prevent a transition gap. This bridge includes a personalized reintegration plan, weekly alumni peer groups, and ongoing support through our private mobile app to keep your daughter connected to her ranch sisters.

Our ranch is a peaceful setting where girls can connect with nature and help care for our 65 animals, including Alfredo the donkey. Your daughter will participate in a variety of activities, such as equine therapy, art, talent shows, and offsite “sober fun” field trips.

Shame is often what keeps the cycle of addiction going. Our Topic 6: Shame & Vulnerability focus week is specifically designed to help girls understand shame and develop the tools to be vulnerable in healthy relationships. We replace their maladaptive tools with confidence and self-worth.

Many families enjoy visiting the ranch, but weekly family sessions can be completed by phone or video call to ensure you stay connected.

Girls typically receive two individual sessions each week, weekly family therapy, daily clinical groups, and a structured schedule that balances treatment, academics, movement, rest, and life-skills practice. Programming may include addiction education, trauma groups, expressive arts, peer connection, equine therapy, occupational therapy, and recovery-oriented support like Smart Recovery or AA.

Each girl receives clinical, psychiatric, and medical screening early in treatment. Psychiatry is typically more frequent during stabilization, and medication changes are communicated to families within 24 hours. Staff are trained in trauma-informed de-escalation and crisis response, and the focus is always on safety, relational support, and clear communication with families.
